Elmwood LaunchPod opened it’s doors during the Leeds Digital Festival to prospective applicants and partners. During the event, Sarah Dear – Managing Partner Elmwood UK and Managing Director of Elmwood LaunchPod – shared further details around the 12-week accelerator programme over a slice of pizza.
The programme will be based on the successful Artful Innovation programme from Watershed, in association with Bristol University. It will include a number of events to develop the positions of the participating start-ups. They will need to dedicate approximately a third of their time to the programme. The programme will help the businesses define their beachhead markets, key customer segments, and value proposition. During the programme, participants will also gain insight into how to access funding, as well as the day-to-day runnings of a successful business.
The event was attended by several STEAM start-up businesses in the consumer healthcare space, as well as prominent members of the Leeds business community. Also in attendance was Colin Mawhinney, Head of Health Innovation at Leeds Health Partnerships.
